SCRIPT: Leire, after tearing her Achilles tendon, is forced to live with her leg completely in a cast at an extreme angle. From the start, you’ll see her struggle with the pain as she moves around on crutches, trying to adjust to her new reality.
In this video, Leire leaves her house feeling intense pain but talks about her desire to go out and have dinner at a restaurant despite the discomfort, in order to disconnect. Using crutches and wearing a black high-heeled boot, she makes her way to the restaurant, where she elevates her injured leg on a chair while eating. As the pain becomes unbearable, she decides to raise it on the table, despite the embarrassment of being the center of attention. She keeps her casted leg on the table while eating, drinking, moving her toes, and showing off her toe ring. After a long while, she lowers her leg and continues on crutches, leaving the restaurant and returning to her home. Once inside, she collapses onto the couch, removes the boot, and rests her bare foot on the cushions.
